A Beginning with Love

XURAN comes from the name of a little girl — my daughter, 栩然.

But the story of XURAN ECO began long before her birth.

For years, I had been searching for a way of living that felt more natural, more intentional, and more respectful of the earth we share.

When my daughter came into the world, those quiet thoughts suddenly took on a new meaning.

They became questions about the future.

What kind of world will she grow up in?

What do we use, discard, and leave behind?

What do we take from the earth — and what will remain for the generations that follow?

There are no simple answers.

But I began to believe that meaningful change does not always begin with something extraordinary.

Sometimes, it begins with the smallest choices we make every day.

A Name, a Butterfly, and the Freedom to Grow

The name 栩然 carries a sense of life, lightness, and freedom.

It reminds me of the butterfly in the ancient Chinese philosopher Zhuangzi's dream — a butterfly moving freely, as though there were no boundaries between itself and nature.

My own name contains the character 芸 (Yun), associated with plants and growing life.

In a deeply personal way, I have always felt that our names tell a story together.

With earth and growing things, life can flourish.

With love and space, life can become what it is meant to be.

I do not wish to define the life my daughter should live.

I hope she will grow naturally, live freely, and have the courage to become herself.

What I can do is make more thoughtful choices about the world we leave behind.

Rooted in Guangxi

Our story is also rooted in a place.

Guangxi, in southern China, is where XURAN ECO began.

It is a region of green landscapes, agricultural traditions, and craftsmanship shaped by generations of working with natural materials.

Here, sugarcane is part of the agricultural landscape. Loofah grows from an ordinary plant into a versatile natural fiber. In places such as Bobai, traditional weaving brings bamboo, rattan, grasses, and other plant fibers into everyday life.

These materials and traditions remind us that the things we use are connected to the land, the people who work with it, and the knowledge passed from one generation to another.

For us, Guangxi is more than a point on a map.

It is a source of inspiration, a connection to our roots, and a reminder that meaningful design can begin with what nature and local communities already offer.

Our roots are here, but our curiosity extends beyond them.

We also explore innovative plant-derived materials and work with partners from different regions, bringing traditional knowledge and modern possibilities into conversation.

From Natural Materials to Thoughtful Solutions

XURAN ECO began with a belief that materials deserve more thoughtful consideration.

Today, we explore natural loofah, woven plant fibers, sugarcane-based molded pulp, tea-derived materials, and other plant-based possibilities.

Each material has its own properties, applications, and limitations.

We do not believe that choosing a natural material alone makes a product sustainable.

What matters is how a material is sourced, designed, used, and considered throughout its life.

For us, materials are more than ingredients in a product.

They are a way to reconnect:

Land and everyday life.

Resources and lasting value.

Tradition and new possibilities.

Through XURAN ECO LIVING, we bring these ideas into everyday essentials for people, pets, and homes.

Through our packaging and custom solutions, we work to help brands explore thoughtful material choices, functional design, and products suited to their needs.
