In Guangxi, China—a land of endless sugarcane fields and lush tea mountains—a mother made a promise to her daughter: to find a way to enjoy daily life without harming the planet she will inherit. That promise became Xuran Eco, and our first step was finding potential in something most people ignore: agricultural waste.
The Hidden Story of Your Lunch Box
When sugarcane is crushed for sugar, a fibrous residue remains. Every ton of sugarcane produced leaves behind about 270kg of this material, called bagasse. Traditionally, much of it is burned—releasing carbon into the air and wasting a valuable natural resource.
At Xuran Eco, we see it differently. Instead of letting it burn, we partner with skilled local artisans to transform bagasse into the 100% biodegradable plates, bowls, and burger boxes you’ll find in our shop.
Why Sugarcane > Plastic or Paper?
• 1. A True Circular Economy
While plastic sits in landfills for 500+ years, our sugarcane pulp products return to the soil in 60-90 days in a home compost bin. No trace, no microplastics—just a complete cycle of love.
• 2. Built for Real Food
Soggy paper plates are a thing of the past. The natural density of sugarcane fiber handles hot soups, oily curries, and microwave reheating up to 100°C without leaking or softening. It’s even freezer-safe.
• 3. No Trees. Just Waste.
We don’t cut down a single tree. By using agricultural by-products, we significantly reduce the carbon footprint of your kitchen or business. It’s the ultimate "second gift" from the land.
For Business Owners: Your Packaging Speaks
If you run a cafe, food truck, or catering service, every box you send out carries your brand’s values. Switching to sugarcane tableware isn’t just a “green choice.” It’s a silent spokesperson that tells your customers: We care about the planet as much as we care about the food.
